Tools for Oil drain Plug

Do you lack the tool to remove the gearbox oil drain plug?

The gearbox oil drain plug is somewhat unique and requires a special tool to remove.

If the plug isn't seized too tightly, you can easily make your own tool for the job.

Take a 10 mm socket with relatively thin walls (an outer diameter of approx. 14 mm) and file a slot across the end that is about 3 mm wide.

The socket should have a 3/8-inch drive. Don't file the slot too deep; 5 mm works well.

Alternatively, the original tool part number is 879042.
