has given up."

Anders was not depressed and said only:

"OK ... when".

"There are a few more things but .... small things ...."

"Yeah yeah....."

A few days later it was time again, same place, same tools and the same procedure.

Then we discovered why idling was non-existent. Just admit, carelessness at the first assembly of the motor. The fuel hose was loose from the pipe in the car and the fuel pump and to a very clear leak were found. It was not just as simple as a faulty carburator. Once there, the procedure was repeated with the engine out. Everything went much faster than before and after a short while was the front of the engine is off and split from the gearbox.

In connection with this went the rear window into a thousand pieces, so we did not understand, but maybe a crack or a little rough treatment, anyway, a new received ordered and downloaded in Västeras.

Now came the exciting moment, how was it really with the release bearing?

Well it sounded as if it had gone dry least 400,000 miles under constant load. Completely discarded in other words, after 80 kilometres. After much consideration was an old release bearing fitted, I had two old to choose from and I did chose one of these. Actually scandal having to tear after such a short time, but as I said the old stocks are much more burly-built compared to the new ones.

Main Cylinders there were now two pieces of, both needed restoration.

We restored the first and the slave cylinder was already fixed. While we were there so was renovated master cylinder for the brakes up and the tour was well there, it was not pretty for the cover. Two hours of grinding pin and a Dremel so was all rust away, sealing surfaces in the race was OK and fortunately so. Back with everything including bleeding brakes. The brakes should moreover be replaced completely during winter, something must of course have to do. The engine was put in a late Wednesday evening and everything went very easy this time. A few hours later it was time for a new sample starting with associated controls. Although this time it was tight everywhere. Idling then? Hmmm, well the simple answer.

As costs soared so the decision was made to acquire a brand new carburator and a new ignition system. A new Weber 32/36 DGV and the Ignitor ignition systems ordered, the budget was already cracked. Both parts arrived quite quickly and when they were put there was anything like a new world. The engine started almost immediately and finally turned up hope.
